KATIE HOLMES THINKS SCIENTOLOGY IS LIKE TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH HER
July 1 2012
New York, NY – There are those who would claim, who do claim, that Scientology is little more than a cult, a dangerous group of grafters using religion to exploit people for their own gains. There has been no evidence that the organization is fundamentally any different than any other religion in that, but still the perception has persisted and coloured everyone with even a tangential connection to the group.
Because of that belief, which itself could well be construed as religious in nature, other more elaborate attitudes have started to evolve from the dislike for the religion, particularly a belief that they have much more malicious and nefarious side.
That side includes things like indoctrination ceremonies, brainwashing, and even, perhaps most ominously, a kind of police force that keeps people in line and punishes those who dare oppose the church. For years rumours of that latter have abounded and, in the wake of the split between Katie Holmes and scientology scion Tom Cruise, that chatter has started anew, especially from Holmes who apparently believes the group is already out to get her.
“Katie is terrified of the thugs in Scientology and she knows they are out there watching her right now, following her wherever she goes. They have probably already bugged her phones and her internet connections. They are likely also watching her relatives, just waiting to make their move,” said a Holmes insider. “That’s what they do, that’s all they do. They pressure you and pressure you until you relent. They are going to try to crush her, to make stay silent but she is way too strong for that.”
Holmes apparently bases all of her assumptions about the group’s obsession with her on the black SUV that has been parked, off and on, near her New York home for the past week.
It’s not clear if the vehicle, which is generally unoccupied, is a secret scientology spy vehicle or just a recent purchase by a local.
“Obviously Katie Holmes is going to think the group is after her. They have that reputation despite never, not even once, ever having something like that revealed. Not even a little bit in fact but it is something people obviously believe even people who have been through the scientology rigours themselves like Holmes,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Seeing a vehicle you don’t recognize in a neighbourhood you just moved into isn’t, frankly, cause to jump to any conclusions. There are probably a lot of vehicles out there she doesn’t recognize but that doesn’t mean they are all spying on her.”
Cruise meanwhile is off in Iceland shooting a new movie and has not commented on the collapse of his marriage/spy operation.
“It befits Holmes in so many ways to make Scientology look like a bunch of loons and
thugs out to get her but, put bluntly, there is no clear evidence that anything like that is occurring. Frankly, anyone in the world can buy a black SUV and so that truck could belong to anyone,” continued Temple. “However if Holmes can present herself as the victim of some dastardly conspiracy she could make a case in the public and in the courts to swing to her side. She will paint Cruise as some evil, malevolent crazy person bent on having her at any cost or ensuring that no one will have her. That’s probably not true because he seems like a genuinely nice person who himself is now being victimized by this sadistic and nasty witch to whom he has given everything.”
Scientology officials, perhaps mysteriously, perhaps not, had no comment.
