INVESTIGATION SUGGESTS THAT 'THE FOURTH KIND' MAY BE FICTIONAL

November 6 2009

Hollywood, CA – Stories of alien abduction have become on the most significant cultural touchstones in the last hundred years or so. Tales of visitations and abductions have abounded in recent years, spawning books, television shows, and grey alien
movies. Of course, all of the tales of such encounters in fiction are derived from real life tales of visitations. In the latter part of the 20th century and into the 21st such stories became more and more prominent with everything from crop circles, to cattle mutilation, to impregnation by otherworldly species have almost become the norm.

The latest tale to take on the idea of alien manipulation is ‘The Fourth Kind’, a film purporting to blend fictional tales and real documentary footage of victims of alien abductions, starring action star Milla Jovovich. Now though, only days before the release of the film, an in depth investigation by the acclaimed science fiction website io9.com has revealed that the supposed real life tales of abduction are in fact fictional, milla jovovich
a creation of filmmakers. Though it’s unlikely that the revelation will impede the release of the film it may cause severe damage to box office potential of the film and call into question the honesty and integrity of Hollywood filmmakers.

“But the movie stumbled out of the gate by hanging most of its fear power on a fundamental dishonesty. There is no "archival footage." There are no ‘actual case studies.’ Instead, we get badly-acted, blatantly fake documentary footage which fuzzes out whenever anything alien happens,” wrote io9 columnist Annalee Newitz. “There is some interesting editing, where filmmaker Olatunde Osunsanmi shows the fake footage split-screened alongside a reenactment of the fake footage and you feel like you're either watching 24 or some kind of weird art-school critique of documentary realism. Unfortunately the ashen fake/real Tyler is such a bad actress, and her CGI-widened eyes so ‘alien,’ that you wind up with the sense that Osunsanmi and crew thought audiences for this movie would be so monumentally stupid that they would fall for anything.”

Newitz also stated her love of faux documentaries but admitted to being offended by the chicanery involved in the promoting of this particular project.

“Try Googling ;Abigail Tyler; and ‘Alaska’ You'll get a link to a convincingly boring Web site called the ‘Alaska Psychiatry Journal’ - complete with a biography of a psychologist milla jovovich the fouth kind
by that name who researched sleep behavior in Nome. Except the site is suspiciously vacant, mostly a collection of articles on sleep studies with no home page or contact information,” wrote investigative journalist Kyle Hopkins, who contributed to the io9 report. “Another site, www.alaskanewsarchive.com, features a story from the Nome Nugget about Tyler moving to Nome for research. The problem? The story is credited to Nugget editor and publisher Nancy McGuire, who says its baloney and she never wrote it. Both the news site and the medical journal site were created just last month, according to domain-name research sites.”

Both Newitz and Hopkins made no comment as to whether or not they believed in alien abductions, or if they simply feel betrayed by Hollywood officials.simpsons kang

“The simple truth is Hollywood makes things up. Their primary job is to entertain not bring the truth to light and so there are inevitably going to be incidents like this in the future. It’s good that sites like this are keeping up on the facts though. Somebody needs to hold Hollywood accountable for these kinds of offences,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “The real concern, at least in this case, is that if alien beings do get offended by this manipulation of the truth then they may come down and do absolutely horrific things. The only thing we can hope for is that they take Milla Jovovich first, we can certainly do without her.”

io9 is reportedly deep into an investigation as to the veracity of the upcoming blockbuster ‘2012’ and early reports indicate that the results will not be positive.
