LETTERMAN DISAPPOINTS VIEWERS WITH LACK OF BROADCASTED SEX

New York, NY – There have been many men who have been brought down by sex. The fairer sex has launched wars, destroyed companies, and brought geniuses to their knees. Some of that, no doubt, is rooted in our animalistic ways. The appearance 
of a pretty face, soft skin, and a curved figure weaken the knees of virtually every heterosexual man across the world. From a lowly farmer to the President of the United States there is no man in world totally immune to the charms of a beautiful woman.
David Letterman is no different than any other man and his admission last week of affairs with several members of his staff while shocking, should come as no surprise to anyone. The admission comes on the tails of a blackmail plot that threatened an outing, something the comedian pre-empted by admitting as much on his show. The firestorm that has spawned around that admission is likely not something the veteran late night host expected. Nonetheless, the attention has brought fresh attention to ‘The Late Show’ which has already been surging ahead in ratings. Unfortunately, for new viewers CBS officials have confirmed that Letterman will not be engaging in any sex acts on television either with his wife or other staffers.
“We fully support David Letterman and the staff of The Late Show. When we were made aware of this attempt at blackmail against one of our employees we made it clear that we supported whatever decision he would make. This has been a very hard time for David, his family, the loyal and dedicated crew of The Late Show, and CBS but we remain dedicated to him and our show,” said the company in a statement. “We would also like to acknowledge all of the new viewers tuning in at 11:30. We would like to make it clear though that there will be no sex or sexual acts being conducted on the Late Show now or in the future. Not only would such acts contravene FCC rules we also believe that such acts would fly in the face of good taste and take away from the comedy that David has been delivering to the American public for over thirty years.”
It’s not clear if the ‘good taste’ referred to is any type of sexual act or specifically one involving the 62-year old comedian.
“There will likely be a lot of people very disappointed when tuning in that the show is not wall-to-wall sex but that isn’t really an issue with Letterman and CBS but more a problem with their perceptions. Of course doing that would certainly bring in the ratings but likely only result in a temporary spike,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Of course that would depend on who he was having sex with and what kind of sex it was. Sure big female stars would bring in the ratings but if he had, say, a regular like Bruce Willis on the show that would be a ratings phenomenon, something that Conan O’Brien would have a lot of difficulty in overcoming.”
Craig Ferguson, who follows Letterman on the ‘Late Late Show’, is reportedly petitioning to include live sex on his show, hoping that it will boost flagging ratings.
“Doing that would certainly change the dynamics of late night talk. For decades the formula hasn’t changed and including hardcore sex, whether straight or gay, would fundamentally alter the late night landscape,” continued Temple. “If that happens they will have to make a concerted effort to improve the overall look of the hosts and their sidekicks. This may very well end the trend of pasty white men hosting these shows as they finally move into the 20th century.”
Jimmy Fallon has tried hardcore sex multiple times but such acts had no effect on his ratings.
