SCOTT WEILAND SEIZURE HIS BEST PERFORMANCE IN YEARS

September 21 2009

Dallas, TX – Through the early and mid-1990’s there were a handful of bands grasping the public’s imagination. Pearl Jam was continuing its run, pumping out hit album after hit album. Nirvana had passed into legend with the death of Kurt Cobain. stone temple pilots
The Wu-Tang Clan was just beginning its assault on the music world. Shania Twain was starting her domination of the pop-country world. Standing alongside those now legendary musical acts was The Stone Temple who were also producing music, putting it on CDs, and performing live shows across the United States.

Things were very good for a few years there for the band which quickly overcame the their reputation as plagiarists to sell millions of albums across the world and eventually gaining some positive reviews. Later in the decade though the band had broken up due in large part scott weiland
to serious drug abuse by lead singer Scott Weiland. Over the next few years the band reunited and broke up multiple times with Weiland finding moderate success with supergroup Velvet Revolver. With much of that early good will now gone the band has also more or less disappeared leaving the members trying to find ways to regain their groove. Now reports indicate that Weiland has gone back to his old ways, forcing an emergency landing while on a trip to Miami.

“I can confirm that Scott was on flight and suffered a seizure. That forced the plane to make an emergency landing at Dallas-Fort Worth to provide him with medical assistance. Scott is back in Los Angeles now and is doing very well,” said a spokesperson for the singer. “Scott would like to thank all of his fans for their concern and would like to reassure them that he will be back on his feet shortly and performing in the very near future.”scott weiland

It’s not immediately clear what may have prompted the seizure but according to eyewitness accounts it was the best performance Weiland has given in years.

“I’ve been an STP fan for a long time. I saw them years ago when the ‘Core’ album came out and I’ve seen them a bunch of times since then. I had no idea he was even on the plane until everything started happening but once I saw him, well that was it. I tried to see them in that brief reunion tour they had a couple of months ago but I couldn’t get tickets but it turns out that I got a show anyways,” said fellow passenger Marcus Matos. “I grew up with an epileptic sister so I know all about seizures but Weiland gave one of the best that I’ve ever seen. He was in the seat first and then he started flailing all over the place, fell out of his seat and everything. It was great and the best thing I’ve seen him do in years.”

Matos also stated that he was not a big fan of Velvet Revolver unlike many of his friends and that he longed for the old STP days.

“Maintaining success over a long period of time is perhaps the most difficult thing to epilieptic seizure
do in the entertainment industry. It can often be a more difficult thing than getting your start so it makes perfect sense that a lot of people and bands ultimately fizzle out in the long term,” said Scrape TV Music analyst Dylan Chambers. “From that era Pearl Jam and Nine Inch Nails are really the only bands that has been able to maintain any level of success so it’s hardly surprising that Stone Temple Pilots have more or less disappeared. They had a couple good pieces there but ultimately they would have been completely forgettable had Weiland not been such a burnout and caused such a fuss. It is good to hear that he’s still into it though and that he can still deliver. One thing they always had going for them was their live shows and with this performance at least Weiland can still do it.”

Weiland has had a history of seizures but according to reports this was his best yet.
