INTEREST IN INNERSPACE SEQUEL GROWS

January 29 2010

Hollywood, CA – Bogart and Bacall, Hepburn and Tracy, Woodward and Newman, Burton and Taylor, are all examples of Hollywood power couples who have not only been potent box office pairings, but for many the embodiment of romance and bogart and bacall
passion. Like all couples, they too had their ups and downs but with Hollywood being the modern royalty even those difficult times have spoken to the nature of love itself and carried many an imagination away with the dreams of true love.

That interest and affection for Hollywood couples has made it into the modern day as well. Couples like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, and most significantly Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have followed in the best and worst of that tradition, engaging the imaginations and hearts of movie fans and celebrity watchers all over the world. For a brief time through the 1990’s one other couple had the hearts of fans across the globe, only to see that relationship dissolve along with the dreams of dozens of fans. When the luminous Meg Ryan and chiselled Dennis Quaid tied the innerspace poster
know in 1991 it seemed that Hollywood had produced yet another legendary couple. In the years since though, the dissolution of their marriage and careers has destroyed that dream, until now with the revelation that they will reunite for the roles that first made them a couple.

“It’s kind of hush-hush right now for a lot of reasons but pretty much the entire cast is signed on or in the middle of discussions to come back for the sequel. Yes, Ryan and Quaid are in as well as Martin Short but even people with smaller parts like Robert Picardo and the 96-year old Kevin McCarthy are in and excited,” said a Hollywood insider. “Joe Dante has been planning this film from the day they finished filming the first one but the financial failure kind of killed those hopes. Now though that the film has become a cult classic the studio has decided that it’s worth another kick at the can, and hope that reuniting Ryan and Quaid onscreen will mean major dollars.”dennis quaid

The production will like be produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment for Warner Brothers.

“That film had so much potential in so many ways but so much of it didn’t live up to that potential, much like the lives of virtually everyone involved. It isn’t just the marriage of Ryan and Quaid that collapsed, it was their careers and even their faces which time has really not been kind to. Hopefully this will turn all that around,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “I mean Martin Short has done alright and Kevin McCarthy isn’t dead yet so that’s good for him, but all in all a movie that should have been a triumph for everyone, something which everyone should have come out shining, well it just led to disaster, especially for the couple at the centre of it all.”meg ryan plastic surgery

Quaid has had a few notable movies in recent years such as last year’s ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ but for the most part has become a shell of his former self.  Meg Ryan hasn’t been in a movie anyone has seen in over a decade.

“It’s very unlikely that this will reignite the romance between the two in real life. They have a child together so they likely see each other often already. It will however remind people of a certain age just how fantastic they were as a couple and perhaps even inspire a new generation of Hollywood romance,” continued Temple. “I will say however that at least as far as the movie itself goes I hope they don’t jump onto the 3-D bandwagon. The last thing anyone wants to see is Meg Ryan’s surgery face in anything but two dimensions.”

The sequel  will be out sometime in the future.
