WITH LATEST BOMB SARAH JESSICA PARKER TO HAUNT HOUSES FULL TIME

Hollywood, CA – The movie business has always been a fickle thing. People can rise to the uppermost heights of stardom and in an instant have it all taken away from them. Some spend a lifetime trying to find the right project, the role that they can put 
their teeth into and make it sing. Some find it and some do not but for all of them the let down can be just as hard, knowing the heights and never again being able to achieve them.
For years Sarah Jessica Parker wandered the back alleys of Hollywood films, landing roles in such underwhelming films as ‘Striking Distance’ and ‘If Lucy Fell’. Then of course came a little HBO show that would forever change her life, making her an icon and a bona fide superstar. Her role as Carrie Bradshaw on ‘Sex and the City’ was without a doubt the role that she had been looking for through all those mediocre projects, but as often happens that’s about where it ended. Since the end of that show in 2004, Parker has had only one major success, last summer’s big screen version of the show. Now with ‘Did you hear about the Morgans?’ a box office flop Parker is reportedly considering going back to what she does best, scaring young children.
“She’s an upbeat girl and she outwardly takes these things in stride but it does bother her, privately at least. People don’t get into the movie industry to have flops, they all want to be stars and Sarah is no different. She wants success and she just isn’t able to pull it off for some reason and it’s really getting to her,” said a Hollywood insider. “She loves Sex and the city but she really doesn’t want her entire career to be defined by that one role. She puts on a brave face but deep down every time one of these flops happens she’s just reminded of her life before and it’s a very unsettling thing.”
A new ‘Sex and the City’ is due for release next summer and while it is expected to be a massive hit, Parker is apparently less than enthusiastic about the role.
“Sarah loves Carrie; that character has done a lot for her but she has lived inside that role for years now. It’s not even that she wants to stretch artistically, she just wants to be a success outside that role, she wants Sarah to be a star not Carrie and that
just hasn’t happened and she knows she’s getting a little long in the tooth,” continued the insider. “She’s got a couple of other movies outside ‘Sex’ and she’s going to give those a go but she’s started to seriously consider going back to her old life which involved working haunted houses scaring children. It’s not the money and obviously not the fame, it’s the sense of accomplishment that she really wants and she was really good at scaring people.”
It’s not clear what role she has played in previous haunted houses but child psychologists have long advised against playing her films while in the presence of children.
“From everything I’ve heard even her own children are disturbed by her presence. Not all the time mind you, just when the light hits her face just right, but that’s enough to send them into panic attacks. It’s easy to see why she was so successful in that particular role and why she would want to go back to it,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Not everyone is cut out to be a major star. Even major stars end up getting typecast and even if the roles they play aren’t exactly the same they are very similar. It’s just the way Hollywood works and creative people are going to be hindered by that unfortunately. Hopefully if she does go back to haunted houses she’ll find the satisfaction she has been craving.”
Helen Hunt was apparently also successful scaring children before becoming a star and is considering going back to that life as well.
