ANN COULTER’S JAW WIRED SHUT. FIRMLY.

New York, NY – Political pundit and commentator Ann Coulter has had her jaw wired shut after an accident that left her with a broken jaw. The outspoken right-wing commentator is expected to remain silent for at least a few weeks, much to the joy of the majority of Americans.

Coulter has made a name for herself by making outlandish statements and generally being shrill and noisy. Among her more outrageous comments are claims that former President Bill Clinton is a closet homosexual and most recently criticizing widows of 9/11 victims for speaking out against the war in Iraq.

“Coulter has been one of the most outspoken right-wing pundits in recent years. There hasn’t been a commentator that has made more of a name for themselves by making a spectacle and making ludicrous claims than Coulter has. She has become a standard bearer for crazy in only a few short years. It’s ironic that it’s her mouth that has been affected by this accident,” said Scrape TV political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “A few years ago she had some kind of problem with her eye and she wore a patch for the longest time. That one was just funny, this one is bliss. At least for a little while her talking head won’t be bobbing around our television sets.”

Coulter has for years been a staple on political talk shows, both serious and humorous, and has made herself the focus of criticism against extreme right wing politics. That attention has served her well taking her from a low level law clerk to one of the best paid political analysts on TV. The controversy she has stirred, while divisive, has made her millions. Her temporary silence is not expected to hurt her earnings, but political watchers are relishing the silence nonetheless.

“It’s unlikely she’s going to go anywhere willingly, so we have to hope for some kind of accident or act of God to keep her quiet,” continued Kinsey. “It’s not so much her politics, it’s the harpy-ish way she presents her views that so get on people’s nerves. The arrogance and self delusion that she possesses turns off far more people than it engages. While she may from time to time make a good point, it’s dismissed because of her yelling and her aggressive nature. Her point gets lost with all the noise. Perhaps a few weeks of silence will have a good influence on her.”

Coulter’s new book will be released at the end of December. Her jaw is expected to be healed in time for her to make the talk show circuit to promote the work.
