WARNER BROTHERS “ECSTATIC” ABOUT MORGAN FREEMAN CRASH

Aug 4 2008

Hollywood, CA – Morgan Freeman in hospital after his terrifying car accident in Sunday night, received a call from Warner Brothers President Alan Horn today wishing him well and confirming that his contract will be re upped for the next installment of the blockbuster ‘Batman’ franchise.

Bill Luckett, Freeman’s business partner, spoke to Scrape News. “Of course everyone is happy that Morgan is going to be fine. He will be in quite a bit of pain for awhile but he is going to make a full recovery. He’s very lucky.” Freeman’s car flipped multiple times while driving on Sunday night on a rural highway near his home town of Memphis. “Morgan was in great spirits after the accident, but after the call from Warner’s he was giddy. Morgan loves being a part of the Batman movies and is thrilled to have been invited back for the next instalment.”

“Morgan has done the franchise proud with this accident,” said COO Horn. “It was no fender bender, the car flipped multiple times. That’s fantastic. I mean no one is going to out-do Heath Ledger, and Christian Bale, well, beating up family members is a whole different kind of thing. Morgan has done his cast mates proud and is welcome back with open arms.” As for the other star Gary Oldman, he may be getting a pass from the studio. “Gary has had his hell raising days. I think we can probably count those days in his favour.”

An added bonus to the accident is the continued press coverage it garners for the film, no doubt making Warner and DC very happy indeed. Though the record setting box office run seems to be doing just fine on its own, any added coverage in the media can’t be anything but a good thing. With Ledger’s ‘death’ driving initial interest, and Bale’s violent outburst happening the opening weekend, Freeman’s actions may come at the right time.awesome car crash

“Normally at this stage we re-up the advertising campaign, just a little reminder that we are still out there,” continued Horn. “This gives us all the press we could hope for and at a bargain to boot.” When asked if Freeman will be receiving any kind of bonus for his near fatal car accident saving the studio some money, Horn replied, “We love Morgan, and if he needs any kind of help we will look into what we can do. I’m not going to make any kind of promises, but if Morgan needs us, he can always call my secretary.”

‘Dark Knight’ Director Christopher Nolan, promoting the film in Japan, issued a short statement. “Glad Morgan is okay. Glad he’s going to be with us for the next one. Man, we are making a ton of money.”
