STUPID SYRIA NOW THREATENING TO USE CHEMICAL WEAPONS IF THEY ARE ATTACKED

Damascus, Syria – There has been a lot of chatter and a lot of hope by many people that the world would step up and take action to halt the violence in Syria. Such activity has worked in the past, see countries like Libya as a recent example, but nothing of the sort has taken place in Syria which has allowed the conflict there to spiral into civil war.
There are many reasons why no one has stepped forward and actually done something about the conflict in that country. A good deal of the issues have to do with Russian objection to interference, something which the Assad regime has relied upon to protect it while it wages its war against the rebel forces.
Now though it appears that the regime has an ace up its sleeve and has made it absolutely clear that it will use that ace if pushed to the limit. That ace is chemical weapons, of which Syria has the largest store in the world, something they have just said flat out they will use if anyone decides to attack them on both their attackers, rebels, and even regular citizens who have nothing to do with the conflict whatsoever.
“No chemical or biological weapons will ever be used, and I repeat, will never be used, during the crisis in Syria no matter what the developments inside Syria,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Makdissi. “All of these types of weapons are in storage and under security and the direct supervision of the Syrian armed forces and will never be used unless Syria is exposed to external aggression.”
It’s not clear what impact weapons such as mustard gas or sarin would have against fighter jets or missiles but it will be interesting to watch them try.
Reports have indicated that over the last week the government has been moving chemical weapons from safe storage areas to undisclosed locations which will presumably make them easier to use.
“If the world does step in and take action it will be similar to what happened in Libya or Bosnia before that. It is very unlikely that any nation will actually put boots on the ground. They will provide air support and logistical aid to rebels on the ground so that means Syria will have to use chemical weapons against citizens because they are the only ones left,” said Scrape TV International Conflict analyst Mario Martinez. “They may not like to admit it but the rebels are citizens too so using it against them would count. It would also count as a war crime and that means big trouble by the end, well, at least a lot of talk of big trouble at least.”
The last country to have documented use of chemical weapons is Iraq under Saddam Hussein who was later hanged for those actions.
“With the way things have been going I would imagine we will likely end up at the point. Assad has steadfastly refused to even talk about things and countries keep offering him asylum and he just kind of brushes them off which is a little rude and probably hangy eventually,” continued Martinez. “Normally I would say that there really isn’t much of a risk of them using chemical weapons but this isn’t really normal anymore. In fact I would bet on them using them this time. They seem real determined to make this thing happen.”
It’s believed that Syria will start testing their chemical weapons stores against women and children in the coming days, just to make sure the stuff is still good.
