POLAND EVACUATED ON FEAR OF RENEWAL OF WORLD WAR II HOSTILITIES

November 13 2009

Warsaw, Poland – World War II was undoubtedly the single greatest conflict in the history of our species. The confluence of naked aggression the likes of which had never been seen, the sophistication of the tools of war, and the social and moral
imperatives that drew so many nations into the conflict were a perfect storm of sorts battle of kursk
that exploded in the devastating conflict. Of the many nations that saw serious devastation as a result of the war, the nations of Eastern Europe seemed to get it the worst, both in the years of conflict and in the decades following.

Poland was of course the flashpoint of World War II and has thus remained for many and enduring symbol of that conflict. The final straw for the western nations, and home to the most infamous of Nazi death camps, the nation endured the brunt of Communist aggression in the years following the end of the conflict. Their reputation as a sad sack, beat upon nation has also made the nation an almost endless source of mirth for the rest of the world. It is perhaps a little cruel then that an apparent group of pranksters sparked the evacuation of the country after rumours began to spread of a renewal the hostilities that so devastated the country.evacuation

“We can confirm that an 1100 pound bomb was found in the city of Wroclaw on Thursday. It was uncovered while workers were breaking ground for the construction of a new music hall. Initially only the city was evacuated but it quickly became clear that there was a much larger to the country, which prompted a full scale evacuation,” said a government spokesperson. “Evacuees were shuffled across the border into Belarus, Ukraine, and Slovakia. Because of the position of the bomb, in the southwest of the country, it was apparent to us that any invading forces would be coming from Germany. Obviously that did not happen and we realize now that the bomb was old, but it was reasonable reaction to the situation and we would do the exact same thing again.”

Poland is home to over 38 million people, the majority of which had flooded over into neighbouring countries before the reality of the situation became apparent.

“The real question is what were these other countries going to do if Germany germany poland border
suddenly invaded? German tanks would have just flown across the country and taken out those smaller nations, likely killing all the refugees on the border. If they had stayed in their homes they would have had a fighting chance, but I guess that didn’t occur to them,” said Scrape TV International Conflict analyst Mario Martinez. “I mean running into the arms of Belarus and Slovakia wasn’t going to yield a great deal of comfort if the German army started its war machine again. I suppose they could have been hoping that Russia would come to their rescue again and getting closer would have given them a better chance, but of course that didn’t really turn out all that well the last time.”

The current political climate in the region also makes it very unlikely that Russia would show any kind of interest in taking care of Poland should another war break out in the region.warsaw survivor

“Russia is a totally different nation now. Under Putin they have moved away from international concerns and become a lot more insular. Odds they would have shored up their borders and perhaps moved forces a few kilometres into bordering nations to create a DMZ but likely they wouldn’t actually want to be in charge of the Polish. Who would?” continued Martinez. “Given the new nature of Europe all of this is a totally unlikely scenario and pretty much every nation in the region would realize that before they went to massive effort and expense of evacuation their entire nation. Of course this is Poland, so...Well let’s just say it’s Poland.”

Many cities in the western part of the country have reportedly been very hesitant to move back.
