JACK THOMPSON DISBARRED, PLANS TO SPEND MORE TIME GAMING

Miami, FL – Controversial celebrity lawyer Jack Thompson has been officially disbarred for life by the Florida Supreme Court. The disbarment will take effect in thirty days, allowing Thompson time to clean up any lose ends such as clients, cleaning out his offices, and making his last few game purchases.

Thompson began his rise to celebrity in the early 90’s promoting bans on musical groups. In particular he focused on 2 Live Crew’s As Nasty as they wanna be and NWA’s Straight Outta Compton. In recent years the lawyer has become a household name by advocating the banning of such video game titles as Grand Theft Auto and Manhunt, amongst others. Now that he is out of work, the lawyer says he intends to spend a little more time with the product that help make his name.

“After spending so much time around video games I figure it’s probably time to actually play one and see what all the fuss is about,” said Thompson. “Now that I have a little more time on my hands I’m going to have to find something to occupy myself.”

Thompson, a self proclaimed Christian Conservative, said he plans on playing Christian themed titles such as ‘Left Behind’ and ‘The Bible Game”. He plans to eschew the more controversial titles that he has made his name trying to censor despite an offer from GTA publisher Take Two.

“We would like to extend an olive branch to Jack Thompson. We understand he got some spare time now and we’d like to offer him a free Take Two package,” said a spokesperson for the company. “We are going to send him all of our prize titles that he has done so much work to help us sell. Grand Theft Auto, Manhunt, The Warriors, and of course Bully, we’ll make sure to include them all. It’s the least we can do. We will include some cheese and crackers too, just to round out the package. Just tell us where to send it Jack, we only have your office address on file and you’re outta there. Just tell us which system you want them for.”

Both the Grand Theft Auto Series and Bully have been the principle focus of Thompson’s attacks in the past. Grand Theft Auto series, the most recent of which was released this year, is one of the biggest selling videogame franchises in history, the success of which no doubt was impacted by Thompson’s attacks.

“Jack Thompson kicked a lot of ass for us and it’s great to see him finally getting what he deserves,” said Sam Houser, President of Rockstar games, the developer of the Grand Theft Auto series. “Jack has sold bucket loads of games for us and it’s about time we gave back. I’m going to send him a signed copy of GTA IV, just as an extra special thank you. Good luck Jack, there’s no one who deserves this more than you.”

We tried to contact Thompson for comment but his secretary informed us he was at Best Buy stocking up.
