MITT ROMNEY’S SON KIND OF SUPPORTS ABORTION WHEN IT WORKS FOR HIM
September 21 2012
Washington, D.C. – One of, if not the biggest, rub against Mitt Romney is his seeming disconnect with the common man. Romney has of course been wealthy his entire life which unto itself doesn’t mean he cannot connect with regular people, but it certainly does seem to have helped him be of the people and for the people.
His most recent scandal, the frank comments made a donor dinner in which he essentially called half the nation lazy welfare recipients, is perhaps the clearest example of how disconnected Romney seems from the people he wants to lead. The fact that he didn’t see anything wrong with those comments even after he got caught is even more telling about his mindset.
That lack of ability to at least show the people he cares about them, even if he doesn’t, will likely be the root cause of his failure to win the Presidency should that come to pass. The example being set by his son, Tagg, who apparently had a contract allowing for abortion with a surrogate, underlines those concerns even more, showing that while you can try to prevent abortion for everyone else, it’s just fine if you want it for yourself and your defective fetus.
“If in the opinion of the treating physician or her independent obstetrician there is potential physical harm to the surrogate, the decision to abort or not abort is to be made by the surrogate,” reads the contract in part. “Any decision to abort because of potential harm to the child, or to reduce the number of fetuses, is to be made by the intended parents.”
According to a spokesperson that segment of the contract was supposed to be removed, as it was in 2009 for a contract with the same surrogate, but was overlooked despite it being there in black and white.
Dad Mitt was apparently involved directly in the contract, having paid for the surrogacy, but despite all his experience as a businessman did not read the contract.
“I doubt something like this, well this specifically, will have a dramatic effect on the outcome of the election but it is one more example of what really troubles the Romney campaign. They seem to feel there are special rules for them and other rules for everyone else even when it comes to important issues like abortion, well semi-important issues like abortion anyway,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “That attitude has led to a lot of awkward incidents and is really the root of the problem they are having. Well, that and Romney is a jerk. That doesn’t help any.”
Tagg is of course not running for President at least for now.
“The other issue is of course that Tagg is out there on the election trail, stumping for his father. It’s going to be awkward having him answer questions about why he supports abortion, at least for his own offspring and not for other peoples, why he feels the uterus’ he controls are more important than other peoples’. Those are tough questions to answer,” continued Kinsey. “Luckily the Romney’s are really good at not answering questions. I mean the default is turning the issue back to Obama which they are oh so good at, oh so good. Geniuses really at doing that every time they do something stupid. They’ve practically won already with that technique.”
Tagg Romney thankfully did not have to use the abortion clause, this time, and has a healthy son.
