U.S. ECONOMIC GROWTH UP SHARPLY IN THIRD QUARTER SO TAKE THAT MITT ROMNEY, IF THAT’S EVEN YOUR REAL NAME
October 26 2012
Washington, D.C. – The election, in just a little more than a week, will likely be decided almost primarily on who the American people trust with the economy. There will be other factors of course but the economy is the biggest one, something everyone involved admits.
The truth is, under Obama, the economy has not done well. The United States has had its credit rating downgraded, unemployment is exactly where it was when Obama took office, and growth is pitiful, almost nonexistent. That has of course given a great deal of potency to the Romney campaign, about the only thing that he has campaigned on, but now things appear to have switched,
In fact it appears the economy has, despite expectations, grown significantly in the last quarter, much more than anyone believed would happen. That, coupled with positive jobs reports the last few months, could aid Obama in his chances at being re-elected, news that Romney of course will not take well but of course Romney can suck it, stupid Romney and your stupid business experience thinking you’re smarter than everyone else.
“While we have more work to do, together with other economic indicators, this report provides further evidence that the economy is moving in the right direction,” said Alan Krueger, chairman of President Obama's Council of Economic Advisers.
Understandably, the Romney was less than impressed with the report because it just doesn’t help them at all and the economy is the only thing they have.
The Obama campaign has not commented on the report yet but are likely very, very happy with it despite most voters likely not paying attention or understanding it at all.
“This is certainly good news, not great news, not the kind of thing that will shift the needle significantly but Obama doesn’t need a major shift. A small one is all he really needs and that will win him the election and another four years trying to fix the thing he has spent the last four years trying to fix. I don’t know what he will do if that doesn’t work, maybe throw out the Constitution or something like that,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “It’s also not great news for the Romney campaign because they need to economy to be terrible, the worse the better. They have a real shot here but every step the economy makes towards getting better is move away from victory and that has to suck for Romney and his people.”
Much of the growth is being attributed to increased government spending which really isn’t helping the long-term situation.
“Unfortunately this is too small and too obscure to make real change, to actually give people jobs and stuff like that, the kinds of things they want and the like. This is a very slight shift and people likely won’t even read it and those who do probably won’t care or understand or any of that,” continued Kinsey. “Still, growth is growth and it is evidence that Obama is still kind of trying to get the country out from a terrible situation which should be worth something at the voting booth. I’m not saying a win but certainly not a loss either, which I guess would mean a win, or a tie but that isn’t going to happen.”
Third party candidates are both happy and upset by the news but they don’t matter at all.
