FATHER OF REPUBLICAN PARTY CHOOSES TO ABORT REPUBLICAN IDEALS

March 13 2009

Washington, DC – Since the abortion debate became a major political issue Republican’s have always taken the side of pro-life. Battling the Roe vs. Wade decision has been one of the Raison d'êtres of the of the party, using it as a major part of their political platform across all spectrums of American politics, from small town Mayors to Presidents. Now though, Michael Steele, the fresh and rambunctious new leader of the Republican National Party has aborted those ideals, or did, before changing his mind before getting to the clinic.Michael Steele

In an interview with GQ, Steele confirmed his belief and dedication to abortion and though he stopped short of actually advocating the procedure, he did nothing to dissuade people who might be prone to making that choice.

“The choice issue cuts two ways. You can choose life or you can choose abortion. You know, my mother chose life. So, you know, I think the power of the argument of choice boils down to stating a case for one or the other,” said Steele. “Yeah,. I mean, again, I think that's an individual choice.”Michael Steele

Steele quickly backtracked on the very clearly stated statement after he realized that the reporter he was speaking with would be publishing his comments in a nationally distributed magazine. He re-iterated the party line of pro-life only, and that a woman’s choice was not relevant to the discussion.

“I am pro-life, always have been, always will be. I tried to present why I am pro life while recognizing that my mother had a 'choice' before deciding to put me up for adoption,” said Steele in his retraction. “...the Republican Party is and will continue to be the party of life. I support our platform and its call for a Human Life Amendment.”abortion pro choice

Steele gave no reason for his complete turnaround in his statements, calling it instead a clarification despite the fact that the two positions are completely the opposite of one another. Steele has been under fire since first taking control of the RNC, both for his varying political positions and for his aggressive demeanour. Just a few days ago word came that a no confidence vote was being organized by Katon Dawson, Steele’s one time rival for the head of the RNC.

“It can be a hard thing when you are put on the spot like Steele was in the interview. If you read the whole thing you can see how it starts off with kind of silly chit chat and then delves into deeper more significant questions. You can forgive him for thinking that maybe the reporter was just chatting him up, but then bam, hits him with the real deal. It’s easy to see how he could have been thrown off a bit by that,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “Steele has a relatively young political career and it’s even younger on the national stage so maybe
fetus he has to be given a little leeway. It’s entirely possible he didn’t realize his comments were going to be published as a result of that and of course because an attractive reporter appeared to be flirting with him.”

Steele has been married since 1985 and has two children. It is not clear if his wife carried a note pad and recorder on their first date.

“There is little doubt that the Republican Party needs a makeover and badly. George Bush, the war, the economy, and very little in the way of potential has them on their heels. Even the golden boy Bobby Jindal muffed up his first national appearance. I don’t think though that becoming the
abortion by amalee Democratic Party is necessarily the best option,” continued Kinsey. “Maybe his thinking is that since most of the political map is blue, that by somehow morphing into the blue party they will have success but that isn’t likely to work. Plus we’d then have the issue of all these dispossessed left-wingers without a party to call their own. Maybe he should just pull back a bit, and someone should probably tell him that reporters publish things in newspapers and magazines.”

Reportedly seniors in the democratic party have sent Steele a stack of magazines and newspapers from around the country with a giant sticky note saying ‘Read’. It’s been reported that a group of anti-democrat advocates were gathered outside Steele’s house preventing him from entering the building, but were quickly displaced.
