PALIN’S TEEN DAUGHTER WISHES PREGNANCY CAME LATER; NO ONE CARES

Anchorage, AK – In a two part interview on Fox News’ ‘On the Record’ Bristol Palin, daughter of Alaska Governor and former Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, stated that although she does regret her pregnancy she does wish it came at when she was older. Speaking with her mother, the younger Palin acknowledged that she wanted to become an advocate for abstinence even though she acknowledged avoiding sex isn’t realistic. Much like her mother, Bristol’s interview proved to be confusing and largely unintelligible, jumping thought to thought with little comprehensible structure. 
“Yes. Of course. I wished it would have happened in, like, 10 years so I could have a job and an education and be, like, prepared and have my own house and stuff. But he brings so much joy, I don't regret it at all. I just wish it would have happened in 10 years, rather than right now,” said the younger Palin to host Greta Van Sustern. “Yes. I don't know. I just -- I hope that people learn from my story and just, like, I don't know, prevent teen pregnancy, I guess.”
The elder Palin, dropping in after being “down on the river” spoke to her daughter’s strengths as a young mother.
“I'm still getting used to having a -- you know, my last child, Trig, much less that, you know, knowing that we would have another little bundle of joy in our midst. So yes, it was a surprise. It was a shock,” said Governor Palin. “And Bristol is a strong and bold young woman and she is an amazing mom. And this little baby is very lucky to have her as a mama. He's going to be just fine. We're very proud of Bristol.”
The interview comes on the same day as the release of an unauthorized biography of the Governor and an interview published in Esquire magazine. None of the parties involved acknowledged any connection.
“Generally the rule of thumb is that Governor’s govern not doing press. Some Governors inevitably have a higher profile than others. Say California or New York but that is by virtue of the state they happen to be in charge of, not by virtue of a relentless and concerted marketing campaign,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “It’s always a shame when people don’t realize that their fifteen minutes are up. Obviously Palin was a big deal during the Presidential campaign but she became a joke very quickly, one that most people are tired of by now. Much like her virtual running partner Joe the Plumber her relevance is largely nominal now and it really is time she just goes away.”
Many political watchers are expecting Palin to make a run at a Presidential nomination in 2012 and that her current manipulation of her public profile is an effort to position herself for that run.
“There is a particular irony in that she is giving parenting advice, being that she is the mother of a teen parent. If she weren’t a public persona there no would pay attention to anything she had to say about parenting in particular, never mind economic, political, or policy issues,” continued Kinsey. “One thing that is clear from the interview is that Bristol is her mother’s daughter. If somehow Governor Palin is able to be successful politically beyond what she has now, there may be a successor waiting in the wings. From speech pattern, to awkwardness in interviews, to only marginally comprehending the questions being asked of her, Bristol is a chip of the old block. She only has to hope that her mother is able to make a go of this and her future career could be set.”
Candidates for Governor must be at least thirty years of age before being eligible to run. It isn’t clear how many children Bristol Palin will be able to have by that time.
“She’s made an early start of it so her chances of at least a dozen are pretty good. And with her mother as a potential President she won’t have to bother with all that marginal schooling and marginal political experience to be a success,” continued Kinsey. “Of course she could go another way and become a family counsellor. By Palin logic she’s perfectly qualified already.”
