PAT BUCHANAN COMES TO HITLER’S DEFENCE; PREPPING 2012 RUN?

New York, NY – There are few names in history that carry the weight as that of Adolf Hitler. Without a doubt one of the most famous people in the long history of human civilization, Hitler has become for man the embodiment of evil, the devil made real. His
reign of terror that plunged the world into war and his systematic butchery of undesirables has never and likely never will be matched by any other dictator. That perception of the man will also likely continue for centuries to come as the ultimate example of the evil that man can commit on his fellow man.
Even Hitler though isn’t without his supporters. Since his death in 1945 holocaust deniers and neo-Nazi organizations have sprouted up all across the world, continuing the philosophy and in some cases practices of the man and his madness. One of his greatest supporters is political commentator and former Presidential candidate Pat Buchanan who has repeatedly come to the defence Hitler. Once again Buchanan has espoused his belief that Hitler was not interested in war, ethnic cleansing, and in fact was a very misunderstood political figure. Though he stopped short of waving the Hitler flag, Buchanan once again has shown is unwavering support for a man many consider the physical embodiment of Satan.
“Why did Warsaw not negotiate with Berlin, which was hinting at an offer of compensatory territory in Slovakia? Because the Poles had a war guarantee from Britain that, should Germany attack, Britain and her empire would come to Poland’s rescue,” Buchanan wrote on Tuesday. “But if Hitler was out to conquer the world — Britain, Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, South America, India, Asia, Australia — why did he spend three years building that hugely expensive Siegfried Line to protect Germany from France? Why did he start the war with no surface fleet, no troop transports and only 29 oceangoing submarines? How do you conquer the world with a navy that can't get out of the Baltic Sea? Because Hitler wanted to end the war in 1940, almost two years before the trains began to roll to the camps.”
The trains referred to are the transports that carried Jewish prisoners to concentration camps. It’s not quite clear if Buchanan believes the mass extermination of Jews was intended as a peace overture to the Allies.
“There are a fair number of people who idolize Hitler and his people and the things they did. Many of them are morons so that goes a long way towards explaining exactly why they would swim against such a tidal force. There are many controversial figures in history that did a lot of good and a lot of evil with a great deal of them only receiving credit for their ill deeds,” said Scrape TV Historical analyst Lars Luger. “Napoleon, Alexander the Great,
and even in the modern era Richard Nixon are all remembered for their misdeeds not what they accomplished. With Hitler though it’s a slightly different story. His misdeeds were epic in scale and involved the near elimination of an entire race of people. Eugenics,
economic disarray, the deaths of millions of civilians, these things are Hitler’s legacy. Yes he did some positive things but by and large he was a pretty evil guy.”
Many supporters of Buchanan point to the fuzzy definition of the term evil as well as how responsible Hitler was for many of the acts that took place under his rule.
“The real question is why is Buchanan coming to his defence? What social or political purpose does it serve? Hitler has been dead for years and even when he was alive he had no real influence over American political or social affairs so falling on side seems an odd thing to do,” continued Luger. “Of course he could be preparing to launch a campaign in 2012 and is trying to elicit early support. The neo-Nazi vote is one that has largely been ignored by the other political parties. Couple his support for Hitler with the fact that he would be running against a black President and you may have a recipe for the success he has been seeking for so long.”
Buchanan has previously stated that he does feel a responsibility to speak up for Hitler due to his limited remaining family having more or less shunned him.
