MICHAEL MOORE ABANDONING OBAMA BUT NOT BURGERS
August 3 2012
Traverse City, MI – There has not been, perhaps ever will be again, a more ardent and articulate advocate for liberalism in the United States than Michael Moore. Moore, both through his movies and through his speeches, has provided Liberals with a go-to for arguing their case, a person devoid of the clichés and silliness that so often infects the Left.
As that person one would naturally assume that Moore would be an open and vocal supporter of President Obama. He was back in 2008 and it could have been safely assumed that that would not have changed for 2012. That assumption would be wrong according to Moore himself.
For a host of reasons, Moore has retracted his previous vocal support of the President. Like many liberals, Moore has been critical of the President and his first four years and as a result has been forced to step back from openly supporting him in the coming election. One thing Moore won’t be abandoning though are burgers, shakes, onion rings, deep fried Mars bars, donuts, cake, Coca Cola, fried chicken and host of other foods Liberals love.
“I wouldn’t say I support him. I would say I will vote for him. Obama has a conscience. He knows the difference between right and wrong and I’m hoping in a second term … he’ll be the Obama that we want him to be,” Moore told a panel at the Traverse City film festival, taking time out of his busy eating schedule to do so.
Moore was joined in his discord of the President by fellow Liberal Susan Sarandon who is apparently just upset that President hasn’t made her one of his best buddies.
It’s not clear if the two left-wing stalwarts ate together which is difficult with Moore at the table.
“Losing this kind of support, from these kinds of people, is not great but is probably not all bad. They aren’t really the kind of people who can convince swing voters and that is really all that matters. The people who love and listen to people like Sarandon and Moore are already going to be voting Liberal so it doesn’t really matter all that much,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “In the end, they aren’t going to swing many votes. Moore in particular won’t swing a thing. I think he would probably break any swing he attempted to engage the way he’s looking.”
It’s what workout regime Moore has been on to allow his jaw to get so much looser.
“Any support is good support, usually. Support from the Klan or Neo Nazi groups is probably not great support for anyone but it’s not like Obama is going to get that anyway. From people like Moore it is beneficial, it’s always beneficial to have an advocate out there doing work, but if it’s gone it’s gone,” continued Kinsey. “I also have serious doubts about Moore even being able to fit inside the polling booths. That is a serious concern. It’s only one vote to be sure and it is possible that they make extra wide ones in his district, knowing he’s coming, but it still has to be a concern. They may not know how big he has gotten.”
Local voting officials did install easily removable doors for Moore back in 2008.
