BARACK OBAMA AND SARAH PALIN MAKE SHOCK APPEARANCE ON DANCING WITH THE STARS

Los Angeles, CA – In a shocking development, it has been reported that Senator Barack Obama and Governor Sarah Palin have secretly filmed an episode of ABC’s Dancing with the stars. A leaked photograph revealed the two opposing candidates in segment from the ABC hit.

“The idea was for the show to air after the election, as a way to heal any bipartisan wounds that had developed over the course of the campaign,” said an insider for the show who preferred to remain anonymous. “That was the intent but from what I’ve heard the chemistry between the two was quite good and now they may scrap airing the show all together. It wouldn’t do anyone any good to have whispering about the possibility of the two of them being more than just acquaintances. They were talking about not airing the episode at all, but with this leaked photo it may be unavoidable.”

Spokespeople for both the show and the network declined to comment, as did representatives for both the Democratic and Republicans campaigns.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ generally pairs a celebrity with a professional dancer, but producer made an exception in the case of the two candidates.

“They saw a great opportunity not only to generate a ratings bonanza but also to help the political tenor of the country,” said our insider. “There’s little doubt it going to cause a stir when it airs, especially if the chemistry to two have boils over. What producers hadn’t expected was what good dancers both candidates are; they were really impressed.”

Our insider wouldn’t reveal who won the competition.

“I think that this would cause a big stir if were aired as part of the campaigns, but putting it on afterwards just reeks of pandering,” said Scrape TV political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “I think it’s unlikely to have the desired impact on the country, but if the chemistry is what we have heard, then that may cause a stir. Of course Obama is likely to be President and has a young family so an affair is unlikely on his end. As for Palin, well she’s a hardcore right wing Republican and Obama is black. Of course she is a maverick so you never know. It will definitely get lips flapping, but likely will have no profound impact. I just wish Dancing with the Stars had been on eight years ago; the image of George Bush and Joe Lieberman doing the tango would have been something to see and a true first for American olitics."

ABC has also reportedly sold commercial time at a record level for primetime programming, somewhere close to Superbowl levels.

“They are going to make a fortune off it and they may even add some level of credibility to the network and the show. The impact on the candidates might be a little different,” continued Kinsey. “They should shoot an alternative with John McCain and Joe Biden, just in case.”
