JOHN EDWARDS ADMITS AFFAIR WASN’T ALL THAT GOOD ANYWAY

August 8 2008
Washington, DC – After weeks of denials, former Presidential candidate John Edwards has admitted to an extramarital affair with 44 year Rielle Hunter. While Edwards has finally come clean on the illicit encounter, he says he does not love Hunter. He also claims that the sex wasn’t all that good anyway.

John Edwards cmonRumours continue to swirl that Edwards is the father of Hunter’s newborn, something the former North Carolina Senator has flatly denied, saying that the affair ended before she became pregnant. He also made it clear that the sex was largely unsatisfying and didn’t believe that the number of times they had sex would allow for a pregnancy to occur.

“I know you can’t get pregnant the first time. And I know you can’t get pregnant if she’s on top. We made very sure that we took all precautions,” said Edwards. “I’m not an idiot here. I knew getting pregnant would be a very bad thing. Since I didn’t love her and the sex wasn’t really all that good I think it’s completely impossible for me to be the father of her child.”

The denial of paternity seems to be falling on deaf ears in the media, now inclined to disbelieve anything Edwards might have to say after the weeks of lies. The nature of his defence is also calling into question the veracity of his statements.
“I didn’t think anyone above the age of 15 believed those myths about getting pregnant,” said Planned Parenthood spokesperson Sharon Hood. “It seems we have a long way to go, at least in South Carolina. For the record you can get pregnant anytime you have sex, no matter what position, and no matter what your feelings might be. It is a biological occurrence, not a choice.”john edwards praying

Regardless of any paternity results, it appears that John Edwards political career has come to an end. With his wife suffering from incurable Cancer, his repeated set of lies, and the affair itself, very few politicians would be able to mount a comeback.

“Edwards is done. I can’t imagine how he would ever gain the trust of any voter again. I doubt even Bill Clinton could worm his way out of this, I mean cheating on your dying wife?” said Scrape TV political analyst Gabriel Kinsey.  “And saying that you don’t love her is somehow supposed to make it better? In my eyes that actually makes it worse. Of course the story might have been different if he had been in office, we’re used to lies from that end. But again, look at the trouble Clinton had. Whatever else John Edwards is, he isn’t Bill Clinton.”

Edwards continued. “I continue to stand by my wife, whom I love very much, and by the American people, whom I also love very much. I am a proud American and have dedicated my life to this country. I may cheat on the ones I love, but I would never cheat with someone with someone I loved.”
