NEWS OUTLETS STILL REPORTING ON CARRIE PREJEAN CASE

New York, NY – In the ever more crowded celebrity headspace of the United States it is rare for anyone to fully use up their 15 minutes of fame. When Andy Warhol first spoke those iconic words global media was just beginning to evolve and the internet, the most powerful form of information distribution ever created, wasn’t even on the 
drawing boards. That changing world has dramatically decreased the amount of time afforded to one off wonders, but a few still sneak through and even get a little more than the standard 15 minutes normally allotted.
Such is the case with Miss California Carrie Prejean who first made headlines on April 19 when her controversial answer to a judge’s question made her the focus of gay rights advocates. Since that time Prejean has been in the spotlight continuously as controversies about her eligibility and the appearance of nude and partially nude photographs appeared on line. Prejean’s attacks against those seeking to destroy her beauty queen credibility have further thrust her into the spotlight, pushing her very close to the brink of running long in her time in the spotlight.
“We saw a similar phenomenon last year with the Joe the Plumber outbreak. I mean its months and months later and even though he only warrants second rate commentary, he’s still getting some attention. It may very well be that in these ultra liberal times, any who expresses a conservative viewpoint is going to have a longer shelf life than normal. Or it could be that actual stars have lost their appeal,” said Scrape TV Media analyst Sarah Piper. “Regardless of the reasons it appears that second and third tier celebrities are going 
to become more and more common and they are going to stick around for a lot longer. Joe the plumber may have been the start, and Carrie Prejean may be the heir apparent, but it’s likely they won’t be the last.”
Though it has been a little under a month since Prejean hit the national spotlight, her increasing media savvy and the growing number of lawyers, agents, and other representatives currently surrounding her speak to potential long life for the beauty queen.
“Prejean is exploring things like Freedom of Speech and the fundamental fabric the United States as a republic. These are similar themes that Joe Wurzelbacher has mined so effectively but of course Prejean is beautiful and Joe is, well, not, and that will give her a lot more staying power,” continued Piper. “Remember that She has whole year to reign as Miss 
California so she’s going to remain in the spotlight with little to no effort. She won’t need to travel to Israel or write books in order to stay famous, which is probably a good thing because there’s serious questions about her geography skills and level of literacy, as oft happens in beauty contests.”
Though neither Miss California nor Miss USA do not have intelligence requirements, previous history as well as Prejean’s largely ludicrous comments to reporters indicate that she may be severely lacking in that department. Amongst other things, Prejean insinuated that those criticizing her were defaming her deceased grandfather and being unpatriotic, though the consensus is that most people were simply being mean.
“Fortunately the ability to comprehend complex subjects and abstract concepts is not 
really a requirement for looking good in a bikini, a fact which has done beauty contestants a favour all through the history of beauty pageants. That will help her forge a career for the next few years anyway, until gravity gets its 15 minutes,” continued Piper. “Of course this
could all blow over once real news starts to come around. Over the last few weeks we have been inundated with Prejean and Swine flu but it’s likely all that will vanish once something important happens and those extended 15 minutes will evaporate as quickly as they came. Unless she does something stupid that is.”
It’s not immediately clear when Prejean’s 15 minutes will expire, nor if she is able to tell time.
