Abdul Wali Muse with police

SOMALI PIRATE STEALING THE HEART OF NEW YORKERS

April 22 2009

New York, NY – New Yorkers have a reputation for being a hard bunch. An irascible attitude and unabashed love for their city, the people of New York City have long been known for being of a particular breed. The city though is home to many visitors and very few leave the city without an unabashed love of that gruff attitude. It’s rare Abdul Wali Muse
though for New Yorkers to embrace a foreign visitor so thoroughly that they almost become a native themselves, but that’s exactly what’s happening with a certain pirate.

It’s likely that 19-year old Abdul Wali Muse never pictured his life going this way. Growing up in the slums of Somalia the glitz and glamour of New York no doubt seemed to be exactly what they were, a world away. Now through the magic of happenstance and some might say fate, Muse has arrived in New York to heroes-like welcome, setting the stage for his triumphant stand on the world stage, and New Yorkers couldn’t be prouder.

“As the saying goes, if you can make it in New York you can make it anywhere and Muse is off to a tremendous start. He’s almost the living embodiment of that i love new york
particular American fantasy, the one that really only America can make happen. Plucked from obscurity to the heights of international stardom, so particularly New York,” said Scrape TV New York analyst Mike Wilson. “He’s probably feeling a little overwhelmed at the whole situation but that will no doubt be buffeted by the incredible enthusiasm New Yorkers are showing for him. Hopefully he has strong advisors that will lead him down the right path.”

Muse will be the first person tried for Piracy in over 100 years in the United States. Pirates have long been a cult favourite of Americans, a love that hit the johnny depp pirates of the caribbean
mainstream 6 years ago with the release of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’ and its
multi-billion dollar sequels. A new instalment in the series is expected in 2012, a film that will no doubt continue the love affair the country has with piracy.

“Sure he’s no Johnny Depp, but the tinge of realism that he brings to the pirate no doubt is a deciding factor in people’s affection for the young man. Depp is a matinee icon, but Muse is the real deal and that brings an almost tactile reality to the part. That will no doubt help him at least in the short term. Whether or not he can maintain that mickey mantle
interest for the long haul is something we will have to see,” continued Wilson. “New Yorkers love a winner, but they are also the first to tear you down when you’ve overstayed your welcome. Some people like say Robert DeNiro or Mickey Mantle are untouchable and it would be presumptuous to put Muse in that category just yet, but he’s off to a good start.”

Reportedly Muse has already had talks with a number of agents and lawyers, including those in the entertainment field who are already jockeying for a contract. While it may be a while before any firm deals are made, many see this as a golden opportunity for any agent who can snag the contract.judy garland a star is born

“The upside to this case is really unlimited. Books, commercials, film, just about anything you can think of. I’m sure there are already people looking at new Broadway performances for ‘A Star is Born’ or ‘The Pirates of Penzance’. Who knows, depending on the length of his imprisonment we may see him in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Johnny Depp could have no better sidekick than an actual pirate,” continued Wilson. “If all parties play this right, everyone is going to come out a winner and prove that even a poor kid form Mogadishu can live the American dream and make it in New York.”

No details on Muse’s trial have been set yet. According to reports, the young Somali may have to be talked out of his personal ambitions in the New York City banking sector for his shot at stardom.
