CARRIE PREJEAN TO RETURN BREAST IMPLANTS

Los Angeles, CA - Like many stories of instant celebrity, the tale of Carrie Prejean continues to hang around long after anyone was interested. The beauty queen first came to the public’s attention in April when her controversial remarks at the Miss USA
pageant put her face and name on newspapers, websites, and tabloid television. The resulting controversy thrust the former Miss California to the front of everyone’s tongues, and then as quickly as it had come it was once gone once again. Now though Prejean, or at least her breasts, has made a return engagement.
Prejean is now being sued by the Miss California pageant committee with the hope of recovering the $5200 they paid for her breast augmentation before the Miss USA event. Their lawsuit is a reaction to Prejean’s suit against the committee which claims incidents of slander and libel against the beauty queen. Though it’s not exactly clear whether or not the claim for the cost of the implants will be legally valid, Prejean, according to reports, is growing weary of the whole mess and considering returning the implants themselves 
in an effort to save herself the hassle and cost associated with the new claim.
“With her new-found notoriety, an inflated sense of self, and the lure of financial gain available to her, Ms. Prejean turned even further against the Miss California USA organization. She attempts to cast herself as a virtuous young woman and the victim in a supposed conspiracy against her,” said the committee in a statement. “Had she heeded the guidance of the Gospel of John, who admonished only those who are without sin to cast stones in judgment, she might have avoided this legal battle.”
The California committee has stated that they will donate the returned dollars to charity, something they would be unable to do if Prejean simply returns the implants.
“It’s an odd and really kind of sad situation. Beauty contests are supposed to be about that, beauty, and this thing has turned really ugly. It’s really kind of sad 
because those contests really speak to what’s good and true about America and now it’s been sullied by these controversies,” said Scrape TV Fashion analyst Fiona Dollak. “I can’t imagine that it would be too appealing to have the breast implants returned. I mean there’s not a whole lot you can do with them but that of course will be left up to the court. I’m sure there would be some kind of restocking fee which would have to be negotiated and you would still have the issue of labour. I don’t think that simply tearing the implants out of her chest and throwing them down on the negotiating table would solve the problem, though stranger things have happened.”
It’s not clear how much stranger things could get than returned breast implants. Court officials will also have to determine whether or not such items are returnable at all due to their intimate nature.
“I understand that it’s a lot of money and even though she does have some dollars coming in from all the deals she has managed to procure since the controversy that money won’t last forever. That’s something even a beauty queen should be able to realize,” continued Dollak. “The real question is whether or not the implants are worth more than $5200 in her chest. She has to assess her overall package and determine how valuable boobs are to the portfolio.”
Prejean refutes claims that the offer to return the implants is a result of an inability to count to 5200.
