HELICOPTER AND PLANE FUSION GOES AWRY ON THE HUDSON
August 8 2009
New York, NY – Since man first became self aware he has dreamed of taking to the skies. Tales of men with wings and marvellous flying machines have dotted the tales that human beings have told since the days of cave paintings. It wasn’t until the 19th
century that man started to make real attempts at taking to the skies and by the first half of the 20th manned flight was commonplace. As the century progressed we had perfected flight and even moved beyond our own world.
Innovations and innovators though have continued to push the limits of flight, designing new machines and new devices in order to make the process more efficient and more adventurous. Such an attempt was apparently the case in New York today. Unfortunately for the participants the experiment failed and ended up like many of the earliest attempts at flight; in disaster.
As Police officials began to process of reclaiming the remains of two aircraft and nine bodies from the Hudson mankind was once again reminded of the dangers inherent in flying through the air and pushing the boundaries of the human experience.
“This has changed from a rescue to a recovery mission. Sadly, it appears to us at this point, this was probably not survivable from virtually the instant of the accident, or certainly a few seconds later when both aircraft went into the water,” said Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “I am sorry to have to report to the public another tragedy. This
is not going to have a happy ending, like when the airbus went down in the river, and everybody survived. In this case, we believe that nobody has. It is a great tragedy. This one of the largest accidents resulting in death in the New York area in modern days.”
Though it isn’t immediately clear as to what might have caused the accident early reports from witnesses indicate that the plane ran into the back of the helicopter causing both machines to explode on impact. It is being speculated that the two pilots were attempting some type of mid-air fusion between the two machines.
“From jet packs to flying cars people have always been trying to come up with new modes of transportation, particularly when it comes to flight. We will have to wait and
see as the evidence comes in but it appears as though they were attempting some kind of new mode of
flight that obviously failed in some cataclysmic way. What they were trying exactly we might never know but it either wasn’t a good idea or it was just poor execution,” said Scrape TV Aviation analyst Carter Kerr. “People have attempted to fuse the functionality of an airplane and a helicopter before but I have never seen an attempt to actually squeeze the two machines together in such a way. The fact that it was done mid flight and with tourists on board also makes it unusual but of course that could have been part of the experiment.”
The weather in the area was apparently clear and calm which has led investigators to the theory of an attempt to construct some kind of new flying device.
“I suppose it is possible that this was a case of air rage. Maybe the helicopter pilot cut off the plane and the pilot decided to give him a little nudge in rear. That’s dangerous on the road of course but in the sir it could be just disastrous, so that at least is a possibility,” continued Kerr. “If it indeed was an attempt to fuse the two machines then hopefully they left behind some kind of plan or description of what they were attempting. Just because these two failed in their attempt that doesn’t mean someone else could be successful. Anyone else who tries it though should probably do it on the ground first.”
It is not believed that anything capable of flight will be salvaged from the river which has prompted police officials to check the home computers of both pilots.
