SOLAR ELECTRIC CHAIR MAKES SPARKS IN NEW GREEN AMERICA

September 26 2009

Dallas, TX – There are more executions in Texas, by a significant margin, than in any other state in the country. With more than four times the number of the next closest state, Virginia, Texas has made the most of their ability to end the lives of criminals. It electric chair
is perhaps fitting then that a new company has chosen the state to test its newest product which they expect will not only revolutionize the execution process but help to usher in the new era of green technology being touted by the President.

Anslo Electrics, based out of California, has just announced an agreement with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to implement a new solar-powered electric chair at the execution facility in Huntsville. The company plans on making the chair widely available early sometime next year should the tests go well in Texas and because it meets the green criteria set out by the federal government will allow the company to produce the chair with government grant money. The chair will be used at least ten times in the Huntsville location before being made available to other facilities around the country.

“We are thrilled to be in the hands of such experienced people. When we set about solar panel
producing an electric chair the only place we thought of was Texas. Aside from the beautiful sunshine here almost all year round the number of executions conducted here made it ideal for our purposes and will ensure that the chair will be thoroughly tested before going into mass production,” said Anslo Electrics owner Michael Kerr. “We believe this chair is nothing short of a revolution in the field of execution. We don’t want to toot our own horn here but this is as big a change in the field as has ever happened, more important than lethal injection and will forever change the way America executes its criminals.”

Kerr predicts that after successful testing they will be able to implement the chairs in at least 40 other states, even those which do not conduct executions. The company already has orders in place from both New York and New Jersey, states which have not conducted executions since they were reinstated in 1976.electric chair

“The real question here is whether or not they will be able to overcome the perception that surrounds lethal injection. That really has been the big money maker in recent years and it’s going to be hard to turn the tide. The advantage they will have is the same people who argue that it is more humane are also likely concerned about the environment which this new chair has the battle won,” said Scrape TV Crime analyst Willard Weston. “All of those chemicals being injected into the body eventually make their way into the ecosystem which really isn’t any good for anyone. This new system is clean and efficient and will likely trump a lot of the humanitarian arguments, especially with this new green initiative across the country.”

The company claims no waste by products will be emitted from the chair itself, though make no claims regarding any by-products from the person being executed. sunset

“The real issue is going to be the cost one. A big part of the reason that many states have strayed away from executions is because of the cost of electricity. That has extended into other forms of execution and created the perception that the entire process is expensive and burdensome. This will relive that,” continued Weston. “Whether or not a renewed focus on executions is in the best interests of the United States this new chair could result in the creation of a lot of new green jobs which means states, who rely on green credits for funding, will likely be all over it even if it means frying a few criminals in the process.”

Kerr did make it clear that direct sunlight provided the best charge and that any executions done indoors would likely require a longer execution time to be fully effective.
