Plot
The show starred Meg Whittle as Sandra Queensly, a flower shop owner on LaRue's Carswell Avenue, who routinely helped friends get out of sticky situations.
The show also starred Gavin MacDonald as husband David Queensly, Catherine Gibson as nagging Mother-in-Law Rose, and Jocelyn Gray as best friend Helen.
Cancellation
In 1977 the CBC filed suit against SCRP to cease production of the program. After negotiations with the Canadian regulatory board the CRTC, an agreement was reached, the details of which have never been made public.
Legacy
The show was highly regarded during its original airing. As all locations and cast members were local, the show gained a very passionate following throughout Camembert County. During the litigation with the CBC there were a number of rallies on the real Carswell Ave, as well as a letter writing campaign to the CRTC. There were even rumours of a bomb threat against the CBC, though that has never been confirmed.
It was rumoured that all tapes of the show were destroyed as a result of the litigation. While it is true that no copies exist in the SCRP archives, various bootlegs have been available throughout the years. It is believed that at least part of the original shows are in the hands of a private collector.
Cast
The majority of the cast went on to appear in other programs on SCRP and one, Catherine Gibson, was nominated for a Gemini for her performance in "The Greys".
