History
Commonly referred to as BEE, the company was founded in 1982 by brothers Jonas and Wilson Hammond. The company began life as a small scale distributer of soaps and shampoos, but quickly moved into manufacturing.
With a small personal investment and contributions from family members, the brothers were able to rent an abandoned warehouse, purchase second hand equipment, and hire two employees to begin producing a line of goat milk soap and skin moisturizer. They distributed their product locally in LaRue and eventually began distribution throughout Camembert County. Over the course of a few years, the company was able to expand it's product line and facilities, eventually gaining international recognition.

Finances
Criticism has been leveled at the company for remaining private, which it has done at the behest of the Hammond Brothers who have consistently eschewed calls for an IPO. The company reportedly generates eight figure yearly revenues.
Controversies
In 1997 a small group of ex-employees launched a class action lawsuit claiming unpaid overtime and unsafe working conditions. The lawsuit was settled out of court and a subsequent investigation by Human Resources Canada showed the company had done nothing untoward.
In 2002 reports of widespread rashes as a result of using Rub/ES resulted in a voluntary recall. The improved Rub/EL was released shortly afterwards and has caused no reported issues. Two lawsuits were settled out of court.
Other projects
BEE is the primary financier behind Scrape TV. The company has no input on the content presented on the website.
