NEW PICTURE REVEALS NICOLAS CAGE’S IMMORTALITY PLOY TO THE WORLD
September 20 2011
Los Angeles, CA – When he first burst onto the scene, Nicolas Cage was strange. He had an odd acting style and, according to people who worked with him, was even more unusual in person. As odd as he was though he was also talented, very talented, and that was something that even his greatest detractors would admit.
For years, Cage toyed with stardom, appearing in prominent movies that never really took off in the mainstream. Eventually though Cage, in what may still be his most normal role, won an Oscar for playing a suicidal drunk in ‘Leaving Las Vegas’. That performance put him in the mainstream and very quickly, he became a star.
There is no doubt that that star has fallen quite a bit in recent years, following flop after flop, but still Cage has persisted, making movies that almost no one seems to care about with great vigour and passion. Perhaps that is a result of myopic obsession, or passion, or perhaps it’s the result of having been through hard times before and realizing the best way through is by just continuing to walk. That latter conclusion may well be the case given Cage’s vast experience in life, his centuries walking the planet, as finally confirmed in a Civil War era photograph of the actor now up for auction.
“Original c.1870 carte de visite showing a man who looks exactly like Nick Cage. Personally, I believe it's him and that he is some sort of walking undead / vampire, et cetera, who quickens / reinvents himself once every 75 years or so. 150 years from
now, he might be a politician, the leader of a cult, or a talk show host,” read the auction description in part. The photograph, currently priced at a million dollars, looks remarkably like Cage indicating that he may well be some type of immortal being.
“I would doubt, bluntly, that he is a vampire. According to what we know about vampires you are not able to take their photograph and so that makes it unlikely that is what is happening here. It could be that he is a real-life Dorian Gray or that he has made some kind of pact with the devil, but certainly not a vampire,” said Scrape TV Historical analyst Lars Luger. “We have seen other pictures of Cage from the past but none have been so clearly him. This all but assures that he has been living on this planet for a long time, likely travelling from place to place and taking up new identities whenever people became suspicious.”
Cage himself has not commented on the photograph that he likely believed had been destroyed many years ago.
“The curious thing is of course his choice to become a famous actor. These movies and these pictures are going to stay with him for a long time. He won’t be able to start a new life without them and, I would guess, that he won’t be able to alter his appearance through surgery and so one has to wonder what his plan might be,” continued Luger. “I doubt his plan has ever been to make bad movies for eternity. That can’t be the reason for making this kind of deal with the devil. That would seem like a terrible waste, to be honest, and hardly worth the effort of hiding all these years. Perhaps he has something else up his very old sleeve.”
Likewise, Cage has not commented on other pictures of him from throughout history. It’s not clear how far back Cage dates.
