PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN STAR’S HOME PLUNDERED FOR BOOTY
July 16 2009
Hollywood, CA – With two of the biggest franchises under his belt there is little doubt that Orlando Bloom has made a major impact on movies. With both the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ franchises in his repertoire, Bloom has had success that most young actors can only fantasize about. Though
that success has not necessarily turned the 32-year into a leading man, he has been able to parlay that success into a formidable career that many look upon with envy.
Of course success can come with pressures of its own. Chief amongst those pressures can of course be the desire to repeat success; to continue with the high standard that one has achieved previously. Huge success can also create a lot of traps. Some of those traps can be self-induced such has been the case with Britney Spears or Michael Jackson; some though can be built into the system with corruption at every corner. Such may have been the case with Orlando Bloom whose Hollywood Hills home was robbed yesterday by a gang of pirates police indicate may have been working from the inside.
“It doesn’t look like a typical robbery. I think there’s a very good chance that someone on the inside was involved and it appears that they were costumed. They found quite a lot of evidence including an eye patch and monkey feces splattered on the walls. At first it appeared to be vandalism but upon closer inspection it now appears that this was an organized gang of pirates,” said a police insider. “The running theory is that they used the pirate gear to confuse the scene. Bloom apparently kept a lot of paraphernalia and costumes from the ‘Pirates’ movies and likely they thought that their clothing would just blend with what he already had. The monkey poop was fresh though and that’s what gave them away.”
Bloom reportedly swore like a pirate upon finding out about the robbery and has mounted an expedition from New York to anchor in Hollywood by the end of the day to reassess his booty.
“The most shocking thing about this case is the fact that Orlando Bloom had enough lying around to steal. Reportedly the pirates took $500,000 worth of gold and jewels which is quite a significant haul for most pirates but that s a lot to have hanging around in the house, especially for an actor that will likely have a lot of trouble making it back.,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “I mean he has had a lot of success, or at least been in a lot of
successful movies, but he hasn’t had any real individual success. Most of his hits have been ensembles where really he was just a player. We aren’t talking Harrison Ford here. Hopefully he had a lot of insurance because there’s a really good chance that he won’t be making that money back anytime soon.”
Bloom has appeared in a number of post-trilogy films that have met with middling success and critical recognition. His only other high profile success was as a bit player in the ensemble ‘Black Hawk Down’ for most of which he was unconscious.
“Being only marginally awake can bring success. Look at Keanu Reeves. He has
had a career spanning more than two decades and he hasn’t woken up yet so that kind of sleepiness can have appeal. For Bloom though that appeal might not work. Aside from the fact that Reeves has a corner on the coma market, Bloom just reads in a different way. He is at a stage though where he’s either got to become a big star or he’s got to become a good actor. What he’s got right now just isn’t going to work,” continued Temple. “The only recent comparison would be Brad Pitt but his success is based largely on his personal appeal, something Bloom only has limited amounts of. If he can’t trade his early success into a real career he may never be able to get that money back and then of course the pirates will have won.”
Bloom’s collection of elven ears was reportedly untouched.
