SCOTT PETERSON DOING JUST FINE ON DEATH ROW

San Quentin, CA – Even for the toughest of individuals, life in prison can be a challenge. From the oppressive life in a cell to the mental and emotional abuse from other prisoners, life in a cell can break just about anyone. That difficult life can be even rougher when it’s being served on death row and it takes even more durable souls to tolerate that existence. Luckily, Scott Peterson is one of those souls.

Sentenced to death in 2005 for the decapitation of his pregnant wife Laci, Peterson’s life has been anything but easy. The 36-year old is making the best of the cards that have been dealt to him though, adjusting to life inside prison and dreaming of the day when he can once again walk free and truly live his life.     

“Scott lives pretty well considering the circumstances. He’s made a lot of friends in prison, plays basketball in the yard, and even blogging from his cell. He’s even got a few female pen pals who I think are a little sweet on him. To be fair, he does play up the bad boy angle just a smidge and the definitely helps with the ladies. I know it always worked with Laci,”
said a family member who preferred to remain anonymous. “He’s adjusted but not adjusted too much. Scott knows that one day he will be free and the last thing he wants to do is get used to the bars. From the movies I’ve seen that’s a very easy thing to do and that makes life outside all the more difficult. We all remember the lessons we learned from ‘The Shawshank Redemption’.”

No doubt part of that adjustment has been the support of fellow inmates. Alongside famous former prisoners such as Robert Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan, Charles Manson, and Stanley ‘Tookie’ Williams the prison continues to house a virtual who’s who of American criminals. Serial killers
Richard Ramirez, Charles Ng, Randy Kraft, and Cary Stayner all sit on death row. Their presence has no doubt allowed Peterson to adjust not only to life behind bars but the burden of being a celebrity inmate.

“Being a celebrity in the best of circumstances can be a difficult thing and when that celebrity is thrust upon you it can be even more difficult to adjust. Luckily for Peterson he has that experience to rely on to get him through what are no doubt difficult days,” said Scrape TV Crime analyst Willard Weston. “Some people just don’t adapt to life on the inside and end up going a little funny. For Peterson though it seems as though he came in with a good head on his shoulders and combined with the experience of his prison mates that should see him through the next twenty years of so of appeals.”

Many see it as very unlikely that Peterson will ever be released from death row as a corporeal being. Currently his lawyers are knee deep in the appeals process which more or less guarantees at least twenty years on the row, a mark fellow convict “Night Stalker” Richard Ramirez is on the verge of celebrating.

“From what I’ve heard both are big fans of AC/DC and that no doubt has allowed them to bond. The Satan worship thing is maybe a little off-putting, but you can’t have it all. With twenty years on the row I’m sure a lot of people look to Ramirez as almost the elder statesmen for the facility. You really can’t fake experience,” continued Weston. “It’s
also a great thing that Peterson is allowed the opportunity to blog not only about his
experiences in prison but also to advocate for his release. There’s no doubt that that outside helps him remain sane and stay in touch with the real world.That’s one of the best things about the web. It allows anyone anywhere the opportunity to say exactly what’s on their mind and allows them to believe that people are actually paying attention. Whether Peterson is deluding himself or not isn’t the point, what’s important is that he feels good about doing it. Sometimes that’s all we can ask for in this world.”

Because of the appeals no date has yet been set for Peterson’s execution by lethal injection. Scrape TV News attempted to contact the family of his former wife Laci for comment, but they were too busy updating their own website.
